I just wanted to introduce myself, I am Anthony Gee, owner and head leadlighter of Adelaide Glass Painters. We have successfully completed many stained glass restoration projects for the State Government and indeed the Adelaide City Council, (we have worked under the supervision of Simon Weindenhofer, Adelaide City Council). In addition to our stained glass and leadlight work we can now offer traditional style acid etched glass. This style of glass etching has not been available in this state for nearly 15 years! And soon we will be able to offer tradition “silver stain” and “gold leaf” on glass!
Our library of old “hard-to-find” glass is arguably the largest in this State and we collect and preserve this glass for future restoration work. It’s our passion….
We look forward to receiving your monthly newsletters.
Best regards,
Anthony Gee
I love this building but missed the news why the Migrant Resource Centre was moved to Coglin Street. What are the future plans for EWH?
My Great Great Uncle and Great Great Aunty were placed into the Destitute Asylum and then into the Brighton Industrial School where they died in 1866 and 1867 respectively. Is it possible to access their records ?
Regards, Shirley
Hi Shirley, State Records SA have a large volume of material related to the Destitute Asylum including admissions and other material. It might be best to get in touch with them to find out how best to track down any material that might be out there: http://www.archives.sa.gov.au/
Hi. My name is Ashly Davies. Adelaide born and bred but lived in the UK for the last 20 years. I’ve always had a passion for historic buildings and recently completed my Post Grad in Historic Builings and Environments at Birmingham Uni .I have been working on some amazing churches , some over 600 yrs old and never fail to be amazed. Ill be returning to Adelaide to.live next year and cannot wait to rediscover the beautiful architecture of the city with fresh eyes. Does anyone know if there any employment opportunities in this sector in Adelaide ?
